On Saturday, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu inaugurated and laid foundation stones for multiple development projects worth over Rs 100 crore in Mechuka, Shi Yomi district. Notable among the projects is the IT Skill Development Centre at Menchuka, an initiative by the Indian Army under Operation Sadbhavana, aimed at empowering local youth with digital skills for brighter futures.
Khandu also laid the foundation for several crucial infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, and a multipurpose sports stadium, all designed to improve connectivity and promote sports. He further inaugurated a Multipurpose Indoor Hall and an Adventure Zone in Mechuka, targeting the growth of tourism and adventure sports. Highlighting the region’s natural beauty and strategic location, Tourism Minister Pasang Dorjee Sona emphasized the growing potential of Shi Yomi’s tourism sector.
