On 31st May 2025, a burglary at a government employee’s residence in C-Sector, Itanagar, led to the swift registration of a case and the formation of a dedicated police investigation team. The accused, Bamin Ronya of Ziro, was apprehended in Harmutty, Assam, with the stolen gold jewellery and valuables, which were promptly recovered and returned to the owner. Further inquiries revealed Ronya’s involvement in multiple burglaries across the state, with property from related cases also recovered.

Significantly, this case marked the district’s first full use of the eSakshya digital platform, which enabled real-time documentation of police operations, statement recordings, and evidence seizures. The successful application of eSakshya ensured transparency and integrity throughout the investigation, demonstrating the Itanagar Police’s commitment to modern, technology-driven law enforcement and enhanced public trust.
