Two minor earthquakes, measuring 3.2 and 3.6 on the Richter scale, struck Manipur’s Imphal East district and Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang district, respectively, on Wednesday. Officials confirmed no casualties or property damage from the tremors. According to the National Centre for Seismology, the Manipur quake occurred at a depth of 37 km, while the Arunachal Pradesh quake was shallower at 5 km. Both events caused mild tremors felt in nearby areas. This follows a series of mild earthquakes across the northeastern region in recent weeks, highlighting its status as one of the world’s most seismically active zones. Authorities are emphasizing earthquake preparedness and the need for resilient infrastructure to address heightened public concern.
