
Student Drugged with Intoxicant in Ramkrishnanagar, Left Unconscious; FIR Lodged
Ramkrishnanagar | 29 April | BarakOutlet Desk: A shocking incident occurred in Ramkrishnanagar where a school student was allegedly drugged with an intoxicating substance-laced drink and left unconscious. The incident took place while the student, a ninth grader, was returning home after school on Monday.
According to the complaint filed at Ramkrishnanagar Police Station, an auto-rickshaw driver named Ado Uddin, who is a resident of the local area, allegedly lured the student into his vehicle and offered him a soft drink that had been mixed with intoxicants. After consuming the drink, the student reportedly lost consciousness and was later found abandoned on the roadside.
Local sources reveal that Ado Uddin, who is known in the area and also runs an electrical repair shop, had a pretext of familiarity with the boy. It is alleged that the student was physically assaulted before being left unconscious. The boy was rushed to Ramkrishnanagar Hospital by locals where he is currently undergoing treatment.
The student’s mother has filed an FIR against the accused auto driver. Based on the preliminary investigation, the police have registered a case under the appropriate sections and are currently on the lookout for the accused, who is reportedly absconding.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage in the area. Members of local Hindu organizations have strongly condemned the act and demanded strict action against the perpetrator. They have also threatened to launch protests if immediate legal measures are not taken.
Police sources informed BarakOutlet that efforts are underway to locate and arrest the accused, and the matter is being treated with utmost seriousness.
