District-Level Saras Mela Inaugurated in Dharmanagar.

Dharmanagar, March 8: The 2nd North District-Level Saras Mela was inaugurated today at D.N. Vidyamandir Ground and will continue until March 11, 2025. This year’s theme is “Accelerating Steps for Women Empowerment.”

The mela features a wide range of products from women self-help groups across North Tripura, promoting rural entrepreneurship and economic growth. The event was inaugurated by Aparna Nath, Chairperson of North Tripura Zilla Parishad, in the presence of dignitaries like Vice-Chairman Bhavatosh Das and social activist Kajal Das.

Special guests included North Tripura District Magistrate Chandni Chandran, Superintendent of Police Avinash Rai, and Dharmanagar Municipal Council Chairperson Mitali Das Sen.

The Saras Mela provides a platform for local artisans and entrepreneurs, offering a variety of products such as handicrafts, food items, agricultural goods, textiles, and furniture. The event also features cultural performances by renowned artists from Northeast India.
