₹3 Crore Sanctioned for Gaiman Bridge Renovation in Barak Valley

Silchar, April 24: In a crucial step towards infrastructure improvement, the Central Government has sanctioned ₹3 crore 1 lakh 28 thousand and 958 (₹3,01,28,958) for the repair and renovation of the Gaiman Bridge in Badarpur, situated in the Barak Valley region of Assam. This allocation has been made under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) following a detailed proposal by the Assam Government.

The Gaiman Bridge, a key transport link in the region, has been facing structural degradation, posing risks to commuters and hampering smooth connectivity. A technical inspection conducted by J. Institute Limited, a Hyderabad-based engineering consultancy, revealed significant structural damage and recommended immediate renovation measures.

Based on the report, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways approved the required funding, aiming to ensure both safety and improved infrastructure for public use.

The sanctioned amount will be utilized by the Assam Public Works Department (PWD) for extensive renovation work under strict technical supervision. Authorities confirmed that the renovation work will begin soon.

District administration officials and local residents have welcomed the decision, expressing hope that the repair work will not only enhance transportation efficiency but also prevent future hazards.

Barak Outlet will continue to follow the progress of the project and provide timely updates.
