ASSAM RIFLES UNFURLS MONUMENTAL NATIONAL FLAG AT SRIKONA

Srikona, Sept 10, 2025 : In a stirring display of patriotism, the Assam Rifles unfurled a monumental 72-foot-high National Flag at the Headquarters of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) in Srikona on Wednesday.

The flag was ceremoniously hoisted by Maj Gen Suresh Bhambhu, YSM, SM, Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), in the esteemed presence of Maj Gen Ashim Kohli, SM (Retd), Chief Executive Officer of the Flag Foundation of India.

The event drew wide participation from across the community, with Assam Rifles veterans, NCC cadets, school children, families, and residents of the Srikona garrison gathering to witness the historic occasion.

Following the unfurling, the National Anthem resonated through the grounds as the monumental flag swayed majestically in the breeze, evoking a profound sense of pride and patriotism among all present.

Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries highlighted the symbolic significance of the monumental flag, noting that it stands as a permanent tribute to the unity, sacrifices, and spirit of the nation. The presence of young students and cadets underscored the enduring responsibility of carrying forward the ideals of national service and pride.

With this ceremonial unfurling, Srikona has added another landmark to its history, reaffirming the Assam Rifles’ commitment not only to the security of the region but also to nurturing the spirit of nationalism among future generations.
