BJP Releases Final List of 138 Anchalik Panchayat Candidates for Cachar District Ahead of 2025 Elections

Silchar | Barak Outlet News | 09 April 2025: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Cachar District Committee has officially released its final list of candidates for the Anchalik Panchayat (AP) seats for the upcoming Panchayat Elections 2025 in Cachar district. A total of 138 candidates have been named across all Legislative Assembly Constituencies (LACs) in the district, including Lala, Lakhipur, Katigorah, Udharbond, Borkhola, Dholai, and others.

The list, signed and issued by Rupam Saha, President, BJP Cachar District, includes candidates from every major mandal under each LAC, reflecting the party’s expansive organizational structure in rural governance.

🟠 Key Highlights from the Candidate List:

  • Under Lakhipur LAC, Dr. Julia Rongmei, Jhuma Rani Sukhlaibadya, O. Bironmoi Singh, and others will represent BJP in their respective Gram Panchayats.
  • From Udharbond LAC, notable candidates include Abhijit Acharjee (Pangram), Amita Chakraborty (Udharbond), and Sunanda Kurmi (Dayapur).
  • Katigorah will see Bappal Malakar (Chandinaragar), Sahida Begum (Katigorah), and Md. Nasir Uddin (Gobindapur) among others representing the party.
  • Borkhola LAC features strong representation with candidates like Biplab Das, Swapan Kumar Roy, and Chandrani Deb in the fray.
  • In Dholai LAC, Milir Kanti Sinha (Narsingpur South), Anguri Das (Rukni East), and Sushila Deb (Dulerapam-Malukgram) are among those contesting on BJP tickets.

🗣️ Speaking on the announcement, President Rupam Saha extended warm congratulations and best wishes to all candidates and expressed strong confidence in a historic victory for BJP in Cachar.

“I am confident that BJP will create history by winning all the seats in the upcoming Panchayat Elections,” said Saha in a statement issued along with the official list.
