Cachar Man Continues to Face Death Threats Despite Paying Ransom

Silchar, April 26: Azmal Hossain, a resident of Jirighat in Cachar district, continues to live in fear even after his release from abduction. Hossain was reportedly kidnapped, tortured, and forced to pay a ransom of ₹1 lakh by members of the Arambai Tenggol gang.

While police action led to the arrest of two suspects involved in the case, Hossain revealed that he is still receiving death threats over the phone, leaving him and his family in constant distress.

Local authorities have confirmed the arrests but have yet to comment on the continuing threats. Meanwhile, the Jirighat community has expressed growing concern over the safety of residents and is urging the police to take stronger action to ensure Hossain’s protection.
