Cachar Police Seizes Yaba Tablets Worth ₹45 Crore in Twin Anti-Drug Operations

Silchar, June 10: In a significant breakthrough in Assam’s ongoing war on drugs, Cachar Police conducted two back-to-back operations and seized 1.5 lakh Yaba tablets valued at approximately ₹45 crore in the international market. The operations were carried out based on credible intelligence inputs, resulting in the arrest of four drug peddlers.

The massive seizure comes under the broader campaign led by Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, aimed at dismantling drug trafficking networks operating across the state.

The information was first shared by MLA Kaushik Rai through his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, where he lauded the relentless efforts of the Assam Police. “Under the leadership of Hon’ble CM Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma Ji, Assam continues its relentless war on drugs,” he posted, commending Cachar Police for striking a major blow to the narcotics network.

The exact location of the operation, the identities of the arrested individuals, and further legal actions are expected to be disclosed by Cachar Police soon in a formal press briefing.

This seizure is yet another indication of the government’s zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking, especially in vulnerable border districts like Cachar.
