Draft Voter List Published for Silchar Municipal Corporation Election

Silchar, July 9, 2025: In a significant step towards the forthcoming Silchar Municipal Corporation elections, the draft voter list for the newly constituted body has been officially released. The announcement was made on Tuesday, July 8, as part of a scheduled electoral exercise overseen by the Assam State Election Commission.

According to official sources, the draft electoral roll was made publicly available for inspection and verification on July 8, and citizens have been urged to review and raise claims or objections within the stipulated timeframe before the final list is published.

  • Total Number of Electors: 2,72,868
  • Male Voters: 1,37,696

The preparation of the draft voter list has been based on the guidelines and supervision of the State Election Commission, in coordination with the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Silchar Municipal Corporation authorities, and the Ward-wise Revising Officers.
