Hindu Yuva Manch Extends Flood Relief to Marginalised Christian Community in Borkhola

Silchar : In a compassionate outreach earlier this morning, the Hindu Yuva Manch provided much-needed flood relief to a Christian locality in Borkhola, where converted Christian families have been facing severe challenges in the aftermath of the recent floods.

Although a church is present in the area, flood victims were forced to take shelter elsewhere due to the lack of proper arrangements. With no visible support from any institutional or religious bodies, it was the Hindu Yuva Manch that extended a helping hand—offering food, essentials, and emotional support to the distressed families.

These families had embraced Christianity years ago, leaving behind their ancestral faith. However, rather than alienating them further, the volunteers stressed the importance of social unity. “We believe in drawing them closer, not pushing them away. Only by standing with them can we encourage a return to the mainstream,” said a forum volunteer during the relief operation.

The incident underscores a growing need to address religious isolation, particularly in regions like Borkhola and Udharbond, where Christian settlements have taken root over time—often neglected or ignored by the wider community.

Relief work continues as volunteers of the Hindu Yuva Manch move forward with determination. “No one wants to engage with these issues—but we’ve started. Let’s see how far we can go,” one volunteer remarked.
