Hindu Yuva Manch Hosts Memorial Event in Udharbond to Honour Pahalgam Attack Victims and Operation Sindoor

Silchar, May 16: The Udharbond unit of the Hindu Yuva Manch on Friday organised a public gathering to pay tribute to the victims of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, and to mark the successful execution of Operation Sindoor by the Indian Armed Forces. The event witnessed the participation of more than 200 attendees from various sections of society.

The programme commenced with a patriotic cultural presentation by artistes of Nupur Nritya Kendra, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and a formal welcome of guests. The gathering took place in the backdrop of national sentiment stirred by the killing of 26 Hindu tourists in the Pahalgam region earlier this month, allegedly by operatives of The Resistance Front (TRF), a Pakistan-based militant organisation.

Participants and organizers of the Hindu Yuva Manch’s Operation Sindoor event pose for a group photo in Udharbond, Assam, following a tribute program honoring the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. The event was conducted under the banner of Global Hindu Heritage Foundation.

Tribute and Address

Addressing the audience, Abhishek Chanda, Barak Valley convenor of Hindu Yuva Manch, stated that the gathering was aimed at remembering the lives lost and expressing solidarity with the Indian Armed Forces, who responded with precision and strength. “The brutal murder of innocent civilians cannot be forgotten. Operation Sindoor, as carried out by our army, was a fitting response,” he said.

Advocate Samrat Dutta, who delivered the keynote address, stressed that while war is never desirable, India must be prepared to defend its sovereignty. “The message is clear — if forced into conflict, we must act in such a way that the enemy does not dare to strike again,” he said, invoking the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita and the example of Kurukshetra.

He also criticised the tendency to overlook the plight of displaced Kashmiri Hindus. “Tourism in Kashmir thrives, yet its original inhabitants have not been allowed to return. We must ask ourselves if this is fair,” he remarked.

Guests and Participation

Former CRPF personnel Bhavatosh Das was present as chief guest. Sensei Sayan Bhattacharya, founder and instructor of the Shotokan Karate Do Indian Association, Assam, also graced the occasion. Mitra Sen, a respected member of the local community, was among the special invitees.

The event concluded with the singing of the national anthem. Among the organisers were Poem Das, Riyon Malakar, Biplab Das, Deep Ghosh, Biswajit Das, Bikash Rabidas, Vishal Roy, Rupam Malakar, Sayan Paul, Jayita Paul, Abir Chand, Aditya Dubey, Deba Das, Sajan Das, Abrajati Nandi, and Vivek Das, among others.

Operation Sindoor and Its Impact

According to sources, Operation Sindoor involved joint efforts by the Indian Army and Air Force, leading to the neutralisation of over 200 militants across the Line of Control. Officials have stated that casualties may increase as operations continue.

Following the Pahalgam incident, TRF claimed responsibility and warned of future attacks should Hindu resettlement efforts in the Kashmir Valley persist. Security forces have since heightened surveillance and counter-terror operations in sensitive regions.
