Major Drug Seizure by Cachar Police in Silchar Under the Leadership of Hon’ble CM Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma

29th April, Silchar: In a significant step towards curbing the drug menace in the state, Assam Police, under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, has made a breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking. In a well-executed operation, Cachar Police seized drugs worth a staggering ₹20 Crore in Meherpur, Silchar.

The confiscated drugs included:

• 386 grams of heroin
• 60,000 Yaba tablets

One individual, identified as a peddler, has been arrested in connection with this operation.

This major drug haul stands as a testament to the relentless efforts of the Assam Police and their commitment to ensuring a drug-free society. The continuous crackdown on drug trafficking aligns with the state’s mission to eliminate the drug menace, and the authorities have vowed that this fight remains unstoppable.
