Man Reported Missing on Guwahati–Silchar Route; Last Contact in Meghalaya on July 9
Silchar, July 11: In a concerning development, a man identified as Nihar Chandra Nath has gone missing while en route from Guwahati to Silchar on his scooter. He commenced his journey on July 9th at 11:00 AM, but has not returned home or made contact with family members since the early afternoon of that day.
According to family sources, the last known communication from Nihar was at 2:15 PM, when he had reportedly reached Meghalaya. Since then, there has been no trace of his whereabouts, and all efforts to contact him have gone unanswered.
The vehicle he was traveling on is a two-wheeler (scooter), though the registration number is currently not confirmed for public release. Concerned relatives have reached out to the public through various platforms, appealing for any information—however minor—that could help locate him or shed light on his disappearance.
“We are deeply worried for his safety,” a family member told BarakOutlet, “and we urge anyone who may have seen him, his vehicle, or any accident or disturbance on the route during that period to immediately inform us.”
The stretch between Guwahati and Silchar, especially through the Meghalaya hills, is known for challenging terrain and limited mobile connectivity—often making it difficult to trace travelers in case of emergencies.
