Mysterious Death in Kalinagar: Body of Local Man Found Near Canal

Kalinagar, July 9: Panic gripped Kalinagar village in the Lakhipur region after the body of a 42-year-old man was recovered near a local canal early Wednesday morning. The deceased, identified as Shibnath Deb, was last seen by neighbors the previous evening.

Residents spotted the body lying face-down in shallow water and immediately informed the police. Lakhipur police officials reached the scene and sent the body for autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Family members of the deceased claim he had no known health issues and suspect foul play. Villagers, too, are puzzled by the sudden death and have demanded a thorough investigation.

Preliminary observations suggest no signs of external injuries, but police are not ruling out any possibilities, including accidental fall, murder, or poisoning.

The incident has caused considerable unrest in the area, with locals awaiting the post-mortem report for clarity.
