NHIDCL to Develop Silchar-Jiribam Road at ₹733 Crore.
The National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (NHIDCL) has been entrusted with the four-laning of the Silchar-Jiribam stretch of NH-37, with an estimated cost of ₹733 crore.
The 13.09 km project, connecting Assam and Manipur, will be developed under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) on a Design, Build, Operate, and Transfer (DBOT Annuity) basis. The initiative aims to enhance road infrastructure in Barak Valley and improve cross-border connectivity to Manipur.
The announcement aligns with Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari’s recent declaration at the Advantage Assam 2.0 summit in Guwahati, where he revealed that road development projects worth ₹80,000 crore would soon begin across Assam.
