Suspicious Activity of Young Woman with Youth from Another Faith Raises Tensions in Deorail

BarakOutlet News | Silchar | April 29: Tensions erupted in the Deorail area on Saturday after a 23-year-old woman, Bishakha Padhiyar, was spotted moving around suspiciously with a youth from another faith. The incident, which quickly escalated, occurred when locals noticed the duo in a compromising situation and alerted the police.

Upon receiving the information, Kalinagar police promptly reached the scene. According to sources, the youth and the woman had traveled from two separate villages in Kaliganj subdivision in separate vehicles—a car carrying the young man and a girl, and another with a boy and girl. Suspicion arose after locals observed their unusual movements in the area.

The girl, identified as Bishakha Padhiyar, is said to be 23 years old. The unusual appearance and behavior of the group raised suspicion, prompting concerned residents to confront them. This led to a commotion, and the police intervened to control the situation and maintain communal harmony.

As tempers flared, police had to ensure that no further unrest unfolded. There was brief unrest among the onlookers, requiring the presence of additional law enforcement officials. However, notably, no female officer was initially available on the spot, leading to the group being escorted to the Ramkrishnanagar police station and later to Kalinagar station.

Upon questioning at the station, it was revealed that Bishakha and the youth had known each other. The woman’s family was informed, and the police are currently investigating whether her movements were with parental consent or otherwise.

Local sources say this is not an isolated incident and have urged authorities to remain vigilant to ensure that such activities do not threaten social harmony. The woman was later taken home by her family.
