Waqf Amendment Law Aimed at Muslim Welfare: Krishnendu Paul

Ratabari, April 29 (BarakOutlet News Service): Krishnendu Paul, MLA and senior BJP leader, emphasized that the Waqf Amendment Law has been introduced purely for the welfare of the Muslim community. Speaking at a campaign rally in Ratabari, Paul stated that the law aims to ensure transparency, protect Waqf properties, and prevent misuse, which in turn will benefit the larger Muslim population.

Addressing the gathering in support of BJP candidates like Habibur Rahman from Karimganj and others, Paul highlighted that the region has witnessed developmental work worth over ₹10 crore under the current government. He urged the voters to support the BJP for continued progress.

Paul clarified that contrary to opposition claims, the amendment does not target the Muslim community. Instead, it safeguards their rights by ensuring proper documentation and legal protection of Waqf properties. “Many misunderstandings have been spread. But the truth is, this law will help Muslims receive their rightful dues – whether it’s education, housing, or employment opportunities,” he said.

He also pointed out that benefits like rice distribution, land grants, and financial assistance for women’s education are reaching Muslim households under BJP governance, showing that development is inclusive.

In a direct appeal to voters, Paul encouraged the public to reject communal politics and focus on progress. He praised the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for steering Assam toward peace and development.

Local BJP leaders, party workers, and a significant number of supporters were present at the event, where Paul’s remarks drew loud support.
