India Bans 16 Pakistani YouTube Channels for Spreading Misinformation After Pahalgam Terror Attack

April 28, Silchar: In a strong move to counter false propaganda, the Government of India, on the recommendation of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, has banned 16 Pakistani YouTube channels, including major networks like Dawn News, Samaa TV, ARY News, and Geo News. These channels, collectively having over 63 million subscribers, were found guilty of disseminating provocative, communally sensitive content and spreading false, misleading narratives against India, its Army, and security agencies in the aftermath of the recent Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir.

Additionally, the Indian government has formally objected to BBC’s coverage of the Pahalgam incident, criticizing the portrayal of terrorists as militants. A strong message was conveyed directly to BBC’s India head, along with a formal letter outlining India’s concerns. The Ministry of External Affairs will now closely monitor BBC’s reporting for any further biased narratives.

The action reflects India’s heightened vigilance in safeguarding its national security narrative and maintaining public trust against malicious foreign influence.
