NIA Raids Across Six States in Pakistan-Backed Khalistani Arms & Narcotics Smuggling Case
New Delhi, April 25: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out extensive searches across six Indian states in connection with a major cross-border smuggling case linked to Pakistan-backed Khalistani operatives. The operation, conducted on Thursday, targeted 18 locations in Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Karnataka.
According to the NIA, the case involves the smuggling of arms and narcotics across the border and the radicalization of individuals through pro-Khalistani ideologies. The raids led to the recovery of several electronic devices and other incriminating materials, which are now being analyzed.
The ongoing investigation, registered under case RC-18/2024/NIA/DLI, is focused on individuals believed to be operating in coordination with Pakistan-based handlers. The NIA noted that these suspects have been allegedly using social media platforms to conspire and maintain contact with foreign-based operatives suspected to be part of the Pro-Khalistan Extremist Elements (PKEs).
The agency stated that the efforts are part of a wider conspiracy aimed at destabilizing India by smuggling weapons and narcotics and promoting extremist ideologies.
The NIA has confirmed that it will continue its investigation into the case, which it considers a serious threat to national security.
