Assam Rifles Commemorates 150 Years of ‘Vande Mataram’ Across Cachar, Jiribam, Tamenglong and Noney Districts

Jiribam : In a remarkable tribute to India’s national spirit, the Assam Rifles celebrated the 150th anniversary of the iconic national song “Vande Mataram” with a series of mass singing events across Cachar, Jiribam, Tamenglong, and Noney districts. The commemorations were organised under the aegis of the Srikona Battalion and witnessed overwhelming public participation.

The celebrations took place at NIT Silchar, Kendriya Vidyalaya Masimpur, and several government schools across Manipur’s Jiribam, Tamenglong, and Noney districts. Over 1,500 citizens—comprising students, teachers, local residents, and dignitaries—joined their voices in unison to sing “Vande Mataram”, creating an atmosphere charged with patriotic fervour.

The event not only rekindled the timeless significance of “Vande Mataram” as a symbol of India’s freedom struggle and cultural pride but also served as a unifying force for all participants. Students and locals alike displayed immense enthusiasm, embodying the spirit of unity, devotion, and love for the nation.

Speaking about the event, officials from the Assam Rifles highlighted that such initiatives strengthen the emotional bond between the Force and the local communities, fostering a deeper sense of national integration and collective pride in India’s heritage.
