
ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS AWARENESS DRIVE AND FUMIGATION OPERATION ON WORLD DENGUE DAY IN JIRIBAM
Jiribam, May 16, 2025: In observance of World Dengue Day, the Assam Rifles conducted a comprehensive awareness campaign and fumigation drive in Jiribam district, Manipur, aiming to sensitise the public and mitigate the spread of dengue fever.
The initiative, held on 16 May, included a medical camp, public lecture, and an extensive fumigation drive. The event was spearheaded by the medical team of Assam Rifles and took place at Bidyanagar, where approximately 200 residents, including students and members from various communities, actively participated.
Medical professionals educated attendees on dengue symptoms, preventive measures, and the importance of early diagnosis. Simultaneously, health check-ups and basic consultations were provided to the local populace.


As part of the campaign, a targeted fumigation drive was conducted at the IDP Camp in Jakrudhar, focusing on eliminating mosquito breeding grounds and improving hygiene standards in the area.
This initiative reflects the ongoing commitment of Assam Rifles not only in maintaining national security but also in promoting public health, fostering a culture of disease prevention, and enhancing community welfare across regions.
