ASSAM RIFLES INAUGURATES FOOTBALL GROUND
As part of its continued efforts to foster youth engagement, encourage sports and strengthen civil-military ties in the region, Assam Rifles inaugurated a newly developed football ground in Tatbung village, Tamenglong district of Manipur on 24 May 2025.
The ceremony witnessed presence of Shri Awangbou Newmei, Minister for Water Resources and Relief & Disaster Management, Government of Manipur, as Chief Guest; Smt. Ramning Pame, Ex-ADC, Magulong Segment, Tamenglong, as Guest of Honour and Smt. Hathling Doungel, Ex-ADC, 10th Phailod Segment. Also present were officials of Assam Rifles and other civil dignitaries.
A special performance by the band of Assam Rifles, marked the opening ceremony, adding grandeur and energy to the occasion.
The event emphasised the commitment of Assam Rifles towards creating infrastructure that encourages youth participation in sports, while also serving as a platform for nurturing unity, peace, and a positive community spirit.
