ASSAM RIFLES SEIZES CONTRABAND ITEMS IN CACHAR DISTRICT, ASSAM
Assam Rifles recovered contraband items in a joint operation with Cachar Police. The consignment was being transported from Silchar Railway Station by an individual in Cachar District, Assam on 24 September 2025.
As part of the recovery, 33 bags of Opium seeds weighing around 1980 kg and four cartons of Gold flake cigarettes packets were recovered. The conduct of operation led to apprehension of one individual also.
Assam Rifles has been at the forefront of anti-drug operations in the region, conducting regular operations to disrupt and dismantle narcotics networks.
