DC Cachar Chairs High-Level Review Meeting on Flagship Schemes; Stresses Timely Delivery of Services to Beneficiaries
Silchar, August 7: In a significant move aimed at accelerating grassroots-level development, the Deputy Commissioner of Cachar, Shri Mridul Yadav, IAS, convened a high-level review meeting today with the Chief Executive Officer of Cachar Zilla Parishad, all Block Development Officers, and other key departmental functionaries. The agenda was a comprehensive assessment of various centrally-sponsored schemes and identification of bottlenecks hampering their effective implementation.
The meeting focused extensively on the 15th Finance Commission Grants, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G), and the progress made in providing basic civic utilities — including piped water supply, electricity connections, and LPG distribution to eligible beneficiaries. The integration and participation of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and the implementation dynamics of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) were also thoroughly reviewed.
Highlighting the critical importance of timely and transparent delivery, the District Commissioner issued strict directives to all implementing agencies to expedite completion of all pending works, ensure real-time monitoring, and facilitate last-mile delivery of essential services. He emphasized that no eligible beneficiary should be left behind, and every entitlement must be delivered within the stipulated timelines.

“Public service delivery must reflect efficiency, empathy, and accountability,” Shri Yadav stated, urging all officials to adopt a mission-mode approach in resolving field-level challenges, particularly those affecting rural households.
Officials were further advised to maintain inter-departmental coordination and community engagement to eliminate systemic delays and foster public trust.
The meeting concluded with an assurance from all departments to intensify ground-level efforts and adhere strictly to the prescribed deadlines, thereby aligning with the Government’s vision of inclusive and equitable rural development.
BarakOutlet will continue to monitor the developments and provide timely updates on the district’s progress in implementing these critical schemes.
