Dilwar Hussain Officially Joins Congress in Hailakandi

Hailakandi | BarakOutlet News: Hailakandi, Assam – In a significant political development aimed at strengthening the Congress base in Barak Valley, noted social worker and engineer Dilwar Hussain Majumder formally joined the Indian National Congress on Wednesday. The induction took place at the Hailakandi District Congress Bhavan in the presence of senior party leaders, office bearers, and a large gathering of supporters.

The event was graced by Assam Pradesh Congress General Secretary Aminul Haque Laskar, District Congress Senior Vice President Manoj Mohan Dev, and District Organising Secretary Shubankar Bhattacharjee, along with several newly appointed district functionaries.

Supporters of Hussain filled the hall, raising slogans in his favour, as he was warmly felicitated with the traditional uttariya and floral greetings by party colleagues.

Speaking to the press after his formal induction, Dilwar Hussain emphasized his commitment to the people of Hailakandi.

“My foremost priority will be to take the light of education to every village, improve healthcare facilities, and work tirelessly for the upliftment of common people. The overwhelming support and response I have already received from the masses has been truly humbling. If elected as MLA, I shall dedicate myself wholeheartedly to the service of the people and to the cause of the Congress party,” he said.

Party insiders believe Hussain’s entry has infused fresh enthusiasm within the district unit. Many Congress workers and leaders expressed optimism that his active role will bolster the organisation and strengthen its grassroots connection in the region.

His supporters, visibly jubilant, echoed confidence that his leadership will play a decisive role in revitalizing the Congress in Hailakandi.

With Hussain’s formal joining, political observers note that the Congress camp in the district has received a renewed momentum ahead of the coming electoral battles.
