Khatkhati Evacuation Caused by Gas Leak During Well Digging in Assam.

In a significant incident, a gas leakage occurred on Thursday, May 1, during well digging at the residence of Mr. Shankar Kumar in Khatkhati, near the CRPF group centre. The incident took place at a depth of approximately 450 feet, with black smoke reported from the site. The district authorities have taken precautionary measures, such as evacuating nearby residents to a safer place. Fire and emergency services are currently on-site, managing the situation. The officials from ONGC, Uriamghat-Surapathar, Golaghat district  are on their way to assist and manage the situation. The situation is under close watch.
