APSC Postpones Junior Engineer (Civil) Exam Scheduled for June 29 Due to Communication Disruptions in Barak Valley
Guwahati, 25 June 2025: In a significant development, the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has announced the postponement of the Junior Engineer (Civil) Screening Test scheduled to be held on June 29, 2025 (Sunday). The decision was taken in light of ongoing communication disruptions affecting the Barak Valley region, which has hindered logistical coordination between Barak and the rest of the state.
The screening test—an OMR-based examination—was originally slated for the recruitment of Junior Engineers (Civil) under the joint cadre of the Public Works Roads Department (PWRD) and Public Works (Building & NH) Department, as per Advertisement No. 05/2025 dated 22/01/2025.
In its official notification (Ref. No. 222PSC/DR-6/3/2024-25), dated 25th June 2025, the APSC informed all stakeholders that the revised date for the examination would be notified in due course of time.
The notification, signed by the Secretary of APSC, has been circulated to key officials including the Hon’ble Chairman and Members of the Commission, the Principal Controller of Examinations, and various administrative units for information and necessary action. Furthermore, the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assam, has been tasked with ensuring wide publication of this postponement across leading newspapers in Assamese, English, and Bengali, along with print media circulation.

The APSC has also instructed the Programmer to upload the notification on the official website for candidate reference.
This postponement reflects the Commission’s commitment to equitable access and fair examination procedures for all candidates, especially those residing in regions currently facing infrastructural and communication challenges.
Candidates are advised to stay updated via the official APSC website (www.apsc.nic.in) and refrain from relying on unofficial sources for exam-related information.
