
Assam–Mizoram Border Festival Set to Bring Dholai Alive on 24 November
Silchar: In a vibrant celebration of unity and shared heritage, the Cachar District Administration is all set to transform Dholai into a lively cultural and sporting hub on 24th November as it hosts a grand Border Festival aimed at strengthening the Assam–Mizoram bond.
A high-level preparatory meeting at the Co-District Office, Dholai, brought senior officials from both states under one roof to fine-tune the arrangements. The session was chaired by District Development Commissioner Cachar, Shri Norsing Bey, ACS, with ground-level coordination led by Co-District Commissioner, Shri Roktim Baruah, ACS—ensuring a seamless and vibrant event.
The B.N.M.P. School playground is gearing up for friendly football and volleyball showdowns between teams from Cachar and Mizoram—promising high-energy, sportsmanship-driven encounters that celebrate brotherhood along the border.
Adding colour to the day, a cultural extravaganza will unfold from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the CDC Dholai office ground. Troupes from Vairengte, Mamit, and Cachar will take the stage with captivating performances showcasing the soul, rhythm, and diversity of the region.
To treat the visitors’ taste buds, ASRLM will set up traditional food stalls, bringing a spread of authentic regional delicacies—turning the festival ground into a delightful culinary corner.
With its focus on harmony, culture, and collaboration, the festival stands as a powerful symbol of goodwill between Assam and Mizoram, reinforcing the enduring spirit of border communities.
