ASSAM RIFLES AND FOREST DEPARTMENT JIRIBAM JOINTLY COMBAT TIMBER SMUGGLING

In a significant blow to timber smugglers, Assam Rifles, in coordination with Forest Department, Jiribam successfully recovered large quantity of illegally cut teakwood logs from Ahmedabad, Jiribam district of Manipur on 16 Feb 25.
The joint operation was carried out on a specific intelligence which lead to recovery of two truck loads of teakwood with a market value of almost 1.36 lacs highlighting the effective collaboration between Assam Rifles and the Forest Department. The recovery of illegally cut teakwood is a significant achievement, as it not only prevents deforestation but also deters the timber smugglers.
