Barak Valley Secretariat Construction Nears Completion

Silchar, Assam – The much-awaited Barak Valley Secretariat is expected to be completed by October-November this year, according to Assam Minister Kaushik Rai. The project, which has a budget allocation of ₹100 crore, aims to decentralize administration and make governance more accessible to the people of Barak Valley.

Once completed, the Secretariat will house multiple government offices, reducing the need for people from Barak Valley to travel to Guwahati for administrative work. The establishment of the Secretariat has been a long-standing demand of the region, and its nearing completion has been welcomed by the public.

“Work is progressing rapidly, and we are confident that the Secretariat will be operational before the year ends,” said Minister Rai.

The new Secretariat is expected to provide employment opportunities and boost infrastructure development in the region.
