Bomb Threat Received by Gauhati High Court; Police Launch Search Operation.

On April 22 morning, the Gauhati High Court received a threat of a bomb attack through an email, prompting an immediate response from local authorities. Police say that the mail was sent by an unknown group who identified themselves as the “Madras Tigers” and stated that they would explode devices within the court premises.

In response to the threat, a police team was dispatched to the high court to conduct a thorough search of the premises. A senior police officer stated, “We have rushed a team to the high court after receiving the threat message. Our experts are currently inspecting every corner of the building, and so far, nothing has been found. We believe it is a hoax.” The officer indicated that further details would be available once the search operation concludes.

A senior official from the high court confirmed the receipt of the threatening email and noted that police had brought specialized equipment to assist in sanitizing the building. Despite the alarming situation, court operations continued as scheduled, with judges proceeding to hear cases without interruption.

The authorities are working around the clock to determine the validity of the threat and secure the safety of everyone in the court. The investigation continues, and updates will be given as more information is available.
