BSF Troops Foil Cattle Smuggling Attempt in Assam’s Border Region.

Silchar, Feb 26, 2025: In a successful anti-smuggling operation, vigilant troops of the 171 Battalion, Border Security Force (BSF), under the Silchar Sector of the M&C Frontier, intercepted an attempt to smuggle cattle across the international border.

Acting on specific intelligence, BSF personnel seized two cattle from the Sribhumi border area in Assam, preventing their illegal transportation into Bangladesh. The operation was part of BSF’s ongoing #DriveAgainstCattleSmuggling, reinforcing its commitment as the #FirstLineOfDefence against trans-border crimes.

Officials stated that strict surveillance and intelligence-based operations have been intensified along the Indo-Bangladesh border to curb illegal activities. The seized cattle were handed over to the concerned authorities for further legal action.
