
Digboi Refinery in Assam Donates Eight Ambulances and Signs Six Memorandums of Understanding for CSR Projects.
In a significant step towards community development, the Digboi Refinery of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Assam Oil Division) signed six MoUs for CSR projects for FY 2024-25 and handed over eight ambulances to healthcare centres in the region.
The new initiatives include TB Mukt Abhiyan —nutritional support for 2,937 TB patients in Tinsukia; Menstrual Hygiene Services—in partnership with Paripoorna Learning Foundation for Powai forest village; Ear & Hearing Care — With NHM-Assam and DDSF to provide hearing aids and boost accessibility; Sustainable Organic Farming—With the Rotary Club of Digboi to promote eco-friendly practices; Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation—In collaboration with DFO Digboi and NGO ‘We For You’; De-addiction Centre—to rehabilitate male children struggling with substance abuse.
The refinery has a strong legacy of social responsibility, including projects like the Assam Oil School & College of Nursing, the Gyandoya Scholarship Scheme, the AOD Hospital, rural sports stadiums and health camps. The event at Golden Jubilee Complex saw the presence of Digboi MLA Suren Phukan, ED Rahul Prasant and other top officials.
Meanwhile, Indian Oil Corporation Limited of Bongaigaon Refinery earlier in January handed over 13 ambulances to the Joint Director of Health Services, Chirang. This significant contribution underscored the refinery’s commitment to social responsibility and improving healthcare access for the communities surrounding its operations.
