
RPF Installs CCTV and a New Escort Hall to Improve Railway Security in Guwahati.
In a significant move to enhance railway safety and operational efficiency, Shri Manoj Yadava, the Director General of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), inaugurated the newly built Escort Mobilization Hall and an upgraded CCTV Surveillance Room at Guwahati Railway Station today. The event was attended by Shri Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, General Manager of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), along with senior railway officials and RPF personnel.
The establishment of the Escort Mobilization Hall marks a pivotal advancement in the safety framework of one of the busiest stations in the NFR network. This facility acts as a central point for coordinating the deployment of RPF escort staff, allowing for more effective management of escorting duties and faster response times in emergency situations.
In addition, the recently upgraded CCTV Surveillance Room boasts state-of-the-art surveillance equipment, offering all-round monitoring capability across the station. The upgrade is intended to strengthen the detection and prevention of criminal acts, enabling real-time situational awareness and further improving the safety of the thousands of passengers utilizing the station every day.
During the inauguration, Shri Yadava emphasized the RPF’s commitment to modernizing security practices to meet the evolving needs of Indian Railways and its passengers. Shri Shrivastava also laid stress on the use of technology and concerted security efforts to increase the safety of rail travel.
