
The Jagannath Rath Yatra will be led by ISKCON throughout Guwahati.
B O News Desk : The International society for krishna Conciousness (ISKCON) Guwahati is set to organise the annual Jagannath Rath Yatra 2025 from June 27 to July 5 featuring a series of religious and cultural programmes across the city.
The festival, one of the largest Vaishnavite celebrations in the region, will witness the ceremonial chariot procession of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra through the streets of Guwahati.
The Rath Yatra will commence on June 27 from the Research Gate in Khanapara, moving along key city routes including APSC Point, the service lane of National Highway 37 Bypass, and Tripura Road, before culminating at the ISKCON Jagannath Temple Project site in Joyanagar.
The return procession, or Ulta Rath Yatra, will take place on July 5, starting from the Jagannath Temple premises in Joyanagar. The chariot will retrace a different route via Tripura Road, NH-37 service lane, Khanapara Veterinary College, APSC Road, and finally reach Kendriya Vidyalaya in Khanapara, marking the conclusion of the festivities.
In the days between the two processions, from June 28 to July 4, a series of spiritual discourses on the Bhagavata Katha will be held at the ISKCON temple complex in Jayanagar. The programme aims to spread the message of devotion, compassion, and spiritual enlightenment, with devotees and spiritual leaders addressing the gathering daily.
Organisers from ISKCON Guwahati have invited devotees and residents from across the city to participate in the celebrations, which they say will blend tradition, community spirit, and cultural expression.
Security arrangements and logistical support for the event are being coordinated in consultation with local administration to ensure a smooth and safe procession.
