BDF Demands Renaming of Silchar Railway Station as ‘Bhasha Shahid Station’ Before May 19

Ahead of the historic May 19 Language Martyrs’ Day, the Barak Democratic Front (BDF) has urged the central government to rename Silchar Railway Station as “Bhasha Shahid Station” in honour of the 11 language martyrs of the 1961 Bhasha Andolan, intensifying regional demands for symbolic recognition of Barak Valley’s linguistic heritage.
