In Chhattisgarh, Arunachal Police rescue trafficked young girls; one is detained. 

Arunachal Pradesh Police successfully rescued two minor girls, aged 15 and 17, who were trafficked to Raipur, Chhattisgarh, after being lured by fake job offers on social media. The operation, led by Siang district police, led to the arrest of a suspect from Nagaland. Tripura is set to become the third Indian state, after Mizoram and Goa, to be officially declared fully literate. The historic announcement will be made by Chief Minister Manik Saha on June 23, 2025, in Agartala. This milestone reflects Tripura’s significant progress in education, with its literacy rate rising to 95.6% as per the 2023–24 Periodic Labour Force Survey, surpassing the government’s 95% benchmark. The achievement is credited to the successful implementation of the ULLAS – New India Literacy Programme, which emphasizes practical literacy skills such as basic mathematics, digital transactions, and financial literacy, and has engaged thousands of volunteers across the state.

Meghalaya: BSF marks 59 km of the Indo-Bangladesh border that is unfenced

The devastating crash, which claimed 270 lives, has left the state in collective grief as it also bids farewell to another native crew member, Lamnunthem Singson.

Assam Rifles arrests two in Mizoram and seizes meth valued at Rs 10.43 crores.

In a major crackdown on narcotics and contraband, the Assam Rifles on June 19 seized methamphetamine tablets worth over Rs. 10.43 crores and apprehended two suspects in Mizoram’s Lunglei district. The accused, believed to be operatives of the Parbattya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti (PCJSS), were handed over to authorities for further investigation. On the same day, a separate operation in Champhai district led to the confiscation of illegal ORIS cigarettes valued at Rs. 81 lakh. Preliminary probes suggest both cases are linked to the PCJSS, highlighting the organization’s suspected involvement in multiple illicit activities across the region.

Manipur security forces have arrested four active cadres from banned militant groups—NSCN (Niki Sumi), PREPAK (Pro), PLA, and RPF/PLA—across Jiribam, Tengnoupal, and Kakching districts over the past two days. The operations, based on specific intelligence, targeted individuals involved in crimes such as kidnapping and extortion. Meanwhile, a shutdown in Churachandpur and Kangpokpi districts brought daily life to a halt, with security forces deployed to ensure public safety.
