In a significant move to uphold academic integrity, the Manipur Government’s Higher & Technical Education Department has issued a directive requiring all government and government-aided college teachers to submit and verify their M.Phil./Ph.D. certificates—especially those from CMJ University, Meghalaya—by July 10, 2025. The order, triggered by the Supreme Court’s 2014 judgment against CMJ University, aims to root out fake or questionable degrees used for career advancements. Teachers failing to comply risk losing all benefits and privileges linked to unverified credentials, as the government reaffirms its zero-tolerance policy toward academic fraud and its commitment to transparency and meritocracy.
