
Babbar Khalsa-Linked Terrorist Harpreet Singh Arrested by FBI in US: Accused in 14 Blasts Across Punjab
Sacramento, USA — In a major breakthrough, Harpreet Singh, also known as Happy Passia, an absconding terrorist linked to Babbar Khalsa International and accused of orchestrating at least 14 terror attacks across Punjab, India, has been arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and US Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) in Sacramento, California.
Singh, a close associate of Pakistan-based terrorist Harvinder Singh Sandhu alias Rinda, is also accused of collaborating with Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). He entered the United States illegally through Mexico in 2021 using a human trafficking network and evaded authorities for years using burner phones and encrypted apps.
FBI confirmed Singh’s involvement in the September 2024 grenade attack in Chandigarh targeting a retired Punjab Police officer, carried out with Rinda’s help. Singh is wanted in 17 terror-related cases filed under UAPA, IPC, and the Explosive Substances Act. The NIA had announced a ₹5 lakh reward for information leading to his arrest.
Singh has also been convicted under the NDPS Act in a 2015 case involving 1 kg of heroin and recently received a 10-year debarment by the US FDA for felony crimes including drug importation and money laundering.
Currently held in ICE custody, Singh faces deportation proceedings. India is actively pursuing his extradition.
