Cachar Police in Assam seized approximately 576.58 kilograms of suspected ganja during an early morning operation on June 24 near ISBT, Silchar. Acting on specific intelligence, officers intercepted a Bolero and a Verna arriving from Tripura along the Silchar Bypass. Police recovered 86 packets of ganja hidden in the vehicles and detained three residents of West Tripura. The seizure, conducted in the presence of independent witnesses, was confirmed as ganja using a drug detection kit. Preliminary investigations indicate the consignment originated from Dharmanagar, Tripura, and was being transported into Assam. The three accused remain in custody as the investigation continues.
