False Allegations Against Ashish Raha During PMAY Geo-Tagging Spark Strong Public Backlash.
B O News Desk : In a recent development, Ashish Raha became the subject of false allegations while conducting geo-tagging activities under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in Borjalenga. The accusations have triggered widespread disapproval among the residents and voters of Ward No. 7 under 45 No. Borjalenga Gaon Panchayat, who have strongly condemned and refuted the claims.
The controversy began when Jitendra Shuklabaidya, husband of the elected member of Ward No. 7, reportedly leveled baseless allegations against Raha, which were later circulated through certain media outlets. The villagers, however, have categorically denied the charges, terming them as politically motivated and entirely unfounded.
It is noteworthy that Ashish Raha is the father of Bunty Raha, the current President of the 45 No. Borjalenga Gaon Panchayat. In response to the misleading reports, a public meeting was convened on October 18 at Yogirbond village, where local leaders and citizens gathered to express their solidarity with Raha and to denounce the spread of misinformation.
Among the dignitaries present were Dharmendra Tiwari, Member of the District Council; Ajay Dev, President of BJP Borjalenga Mandal; Partha Sen, Vice President; Bunty Raha, Gaon Panchayat President; Binandan Rabidas, and several other prominent community members.
Speakers at the meeting emphasized that such unfounded allegations not only tarnish the image of honest workers engaged in implementing government schemes but also disrupt the spirit of developmental initiatives aimed at uplifting rural communities.
With over three decades of journalistic observation, it is evident that the case reflects a familiar pattern of local-level political friction often witnessed during the implementation of welfare schemes. The community’s united response, however, underscores the prevailing public faith in transparency and truth — reaffirming that misinformation cannot overshadow genuine service and commitment to rural progress.
