Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma inaugurated the newly constructed Mini Secretariat, Circuit House, and Block Integrated Development Complex (BIDC) at Pynursla in East Khasi Hills, marking a major milestone in decentralising governance and strengthening administrative infrastructure. The Mini Secretariat is designed as a one-stop centre, allowing citizens to access a range of essential services locally, without needing to travel far. Sangma acknowledged the generosity of the local Raid Shabong community for donating land, emphasizing that meaningful development happens when government and people work together. He highlighted that all 56 blocks in Meghalaya now have sanctioned funds for permanent complexes, and over Rs. 150 crore has been invested in administrative infrastructure, with nearly Rs. 500 crore spent on school buildings statewide to ensure efficient grassroots service delivery and quality governance.
