JOINT OPERATIONS BY SECURITY FORCES RESULT IN APPREHENSION OF CADRES, RECOVERY OF ARMS AND AMMUNITION

Between 26 May and 8 June 2025, the Indian Army and Assam Rifles, under Spear Corps, conducted a series of intelligence-based operations across Manipur’s hill and valley districts—including Kangpokpi, Thoubal, Kakching, Tengnoupal, Bishnupur, Jiribam, Imphal East, and Imphal West—in coordination with Manipur Police, CRPF, BSF, and ITBP. These operations led to the apprehension of 23 insurgent cadres and the recovery of 40 weapons, nine IEDs, grenades, ammunition, and other warlike stores. Notable recoveries included 35 kg of explosives in Imphal East, multiple rifles and mortars in Churachandpur, Kakching, Jiribam, Bishnupur, Kangpokpi, and Imphal East, as well as several IEDs and grenades. All apprehended individuals and seized items were handed over to Manipur Police, underscoring the security forces’ ongoing commitment to restoring peace and stability in the region.

ASSAM RIFLES UNDERTAKES PRO ACTIVE MEASURES TO THEART HEALTH ISSUES POST FLOODS.

In the aftermath of recent floods in Tripura and West Manipur, stagnant water and heightened humidity have raised serious concerns over mosquito-borne diseases and sanitation-related health hazards. Responding swiftly, Assam Rifles has initiated proactive measures to safeguard civilian health in the affected regions.

On June 5, 2025, Assam Rifles conducted extensive fogging operations in the flood-affected areas of Chandrapur and Resham Bagan under Sadar Sub Division, West Tripura District. This drive, carried out in close coordination with the civil administration, targeted the prevention of vector-borne diseases such as dengue, malaria, and chikungunya.

Additionally, Assam Rifles organized a medical camp at Dologaon Bazar, Kailashahar, Unakoti District, where around 120 internally displaced flood victims were screened and provided with necessary medical treatment and medicines. The medical team’s prompt response was highlighted by their successful resuscitation of an unconscious 40-year-old woman.

In West Manipur, Assam Rifles extended its support by setting up medical camps and distributing food supplies in Kamranga and Chotabekra (Jiribam District) and Tatbung (Tamenglong District), bringing much-needed relief to 184 flood-affected individuals.

These timely and compassionate interventions further reinforce Assam Rifles’ reputation as the ‘Sentinels of North East,’ always ready to serve and protect communities in times of crisis.

ASSAM RIFLES EXTENDS HUMANITARIAN AID AND DISASTER RELIEF IN FLOOD AND LANDSLIDE-AFFECTED AREAS OF MANIPUR

Assam Rifles has extended critical humanitarian assistance across multiple locations in Manipur to combat monsoon-induced challenges. In Tatbung village, families facing rising water levels received vital ration supplies. Meanwhile, 62 civilians stranded by floods in Tuisilen village were swiftly evacuated by Assam Rifles using boats, with essential relief distributed. Simultaneously, landslides on key routes like NH 37 prompted immediate intervention, as Assam Rifles deployed manpower and equipment to restore connectivity. Their timely and coordinated response underscores their unwavering commitment to safeguarding communities during disasters.”

ASSAM RIFLES RECOVERS ILLEGAL FOREIGN CIGARETTES WORTH RS 2 CRORES FROM JIRIBAM

Assam Rifles, in a joint operation with Manipur Police, seized illegal foreign cigarettes worth Rs 2 crores from Savomphai in Jiribam district on 20 May 2025. The contraband, comprising 98 bags each containing 1000 cigarette packets, was being smuggled via boat from Tipaimukh and was intended for Bangladesh. Two individuals were apprehended. This operation highlights Assam Rifles’ resolute stance against smuggling and their continued efforts to dismantle cross-border illicit networks.

ASSAM RIFLES ORGANIZES AWARENESS CAMPAIGN ACROSS ON WORLD MALARIA DAY

Assam Rifles marked World Malaria Day with a dedicated campaign across various villages in Tamenglong and Jiribam Districts. The initiative involved fumigation drives to eliminate mosquito breeding sites, followed by informative lectures on malaria prevention, symptoms, and treatment for school children. Mosquito nets and repellents were distributed to the public to further aid in preventing the spread of malaria. The campaign aimed to enhance community awareness and promote healthier, safer environments.

ASSAM RIFLES EXTRICATE OIL TANKER STUCK ON NH 37

Assam Rifles played a crucial role in extricating an oil tanker stuck due to an under-construction drain on NH-37 near Oinamlong Village, Tamenglong District. Their swift action prevented the truck from overturning, ensuring the restoration of traffic flow on this vital highway, which is a lifeline for Manipur. This timely intervention reflects their commitment to emergency response and regional normalcy.
