ASSAM RIFLES RECOVERS HUGE QUANTITY OF EXPLOSIVES IN JIRIBAM DISTRICT, MANIPUR

Assam Rifles recovered a huge quantity of explosives in Jiribam District, Manipur, during a joint operation with Manipur Police following specific intelligence inputs. The recovery, which comes in the same week as the Red Fort blast, includes 7 kg of IEDs, 10 gelatin sticks, cortex, detonators, electric wires, and a power source—materials commonly used to prepare IEDs targeting security forces. Assam Rifles has intensified vigilance across the region and continues to work closely with local authorities to maintain peace. Locals have praised the force’s prompt action and commitment to ensuring security in Jiribam.

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS MEDICAL CAMP AT LONGPI VILLAGE, NUNGBA SUB-DIVISION, MANIPUR.

Assam Rifles conducted a medical camp in Longpi village, Nungba Sub Division, Manipur, aimed at providing quality healthcare in remote regions. The initiative focused on diagnosing the health and well-being of local residents by delivering essential medical care and health awareness consultations at the grassroots level. A total of 194 villagers, including 62 women, 85 men, and 47 children from Longpi village and adjoining areas, actively participated. Led by a qualified Medical Officer, the Assam Rifles medical team provided free consultations, distributed essential medicines, and educated attendees on primary healthcare practices and preventive care. This humanitarian outreach fostered unity and mutual trust, reinforcing Assam Rifles’ continued commitment to its motto as the ‘Sentinels of the North East,’ working tirelessly not only for security but also for the welfare of the people.

ASSAM RIFLES SEIZES YABA TABLETS WORTH ₹6 CRORES IN CACHAR DISTRICT, ASSAM.

Assam Rifles, along with Cachar Police, launched an operation on 9 November 2025 based on information about drug trafficking in Cachar district. During the operation, they apprehended a Silchar resident transporting 20,000 Yaba tablets worth ₹6 crore via Silchar Bypass Road. The individual’s mobile phone was confiscated, and investigations are underway. Assam Rifles has been actively conducting regular anti-drug operations to disrupt narcotics networks. This seizure marks a significant milestone in combating drug trafficking in the region.

This operation followed closely by another major seizure on 11 November 2025, where Assam Rifles and Cachar Police recovered heroin worth ₹4.65 crore from near Jhujang Pahar in the same district. Both seizures highlight Assam Rifles’ crucial role in tackling drug smuggling along vulnerable transit routes in Northeast India, particularly along the Assam-Myanmar border. Yaba tablets, a highly addictive combination of methamphetamine and caffeine, are commonly trafficked in the region. Assam Rifles continues its mission to protect society by disrupting these narcotics networks.​

Assam Rifles, in coordination with Cachar Police, recovered 50 soap cases of heroin worth ₹4.65 crore near Jhujang Pahar, Assam on 11 November 2025. The operation was launched based on specific intelligence regarding drug trafficking in the region. The heroin was concealed in a remote forested area near the Assam-Manipur border, a notorious smuggling route. This significant bust marks a major milestone in Assam Rifles’ ongoing anti-drug efforts, aimed at disrupting and dismantling narcotics networks operating through Assam as a key transit corridor. The recovered heroin has been handed over to the police for further investigation. Assam Rifles continues to play a crucial role in curbing the illicit drug trade through intelligence-led operations across the Northeast, protecting the youth and society from the menace of narcotics.

Assam Rifles commemorated 150 years of the national song “Vande Mataram” with mass singing events across Cachar, Jiribam, Tamenglong, and Noney districts. ASSAM RIFLES SEIZES HEROIN WORTH ₹3 CRORES IN CACHAR DISTRICT, ASSAM

“In a significant joint operation near Pailapool in Cachar district, Assam Rifles along with Assam Police recovered 401 grams of heroin worth approximately ₹3 crore. The contraband was being transported in a Scorpio vehicle, concealed within secret compartments. The driver, Dilwar Hussain of Patharkandi, was apprehended, and the vehicle was impounded. The operation, based on reliable intelligence, targeted drug trafficking networks using Cachar as a transit route. Assam Rifles, known for its frontline role in anti-narcotics operations in the region, emphasized this seizure as a major milestone in disrupting narcotics smuggling. The case has been registered under the NDPS Act, and investigations continue.
